My Story

This will be the third time I have attempted to race in the Magnolia Cup. The first time (2018) I had to pull out due to a hip fracture and the second time (2020) was cancelled due to the pandemic. So here goes third time lucky! I am incrediboy excited to be racing in The 2021 Magnolia Cup, in support of Smart Works.

The funds raised through the race will go towards helping unemployed women across the UK to get the job and transform their lives.

Smart Works is a UK charity that provides high quality interview clothes and training to unemployed women in need. Through the power of clothes and confidence, Smart Works allows a woman to be her best at a crucial moment in her life, before her job interview. 65% clients get the job within a month of their appointment.

In 2019, 43% Smart Works clients had been unemployed for over a year, and almost half had applied for over 20 jobs, creating a significant lack of confidence. In the wake of COVID-19 and with unemployment increasing further, the Smart Works service has never been needed before.

It is the charity's mission to ensure any women in need of its help can find her way to Smart Works.
